Membership Class

 

We’re excited to have you consider Highland Baptist Church as the place you want to belong. Our Membership Class is the place to go to hear about what we believe God is up to in the world, what He is doing at Highland Baptist Church, and it also provides us an opportunity to get to know you and your story.

 

• We want to honor your time in the class. So, we ask that before the class, you complete some reading and watch some videos, as well as prepare your salvation story to share in the class.

• The class will last for three hours and will consist of a time to learn about the story of Highland and share your own salvation story. In the first session, we’ll cover our culture here at Highland and what’s currently happening, how to get involved in our various ministries and have a time for Q&A. In the second session, you’ll meet other people at your table and have the opportunity to briefly share your story.

• After the class, you will be contacted by one of our team leaders to affirm your membership or to provide the necessary next steps toward membership. Then, at the next Celebration Service, we’ll affirm the members and celebrate our new members.

Baptism

Baptism is intended only for those who have professed faith in Jesus Christ and can give sufficient testimony to the basics of Christian beliefs. We baptize by immersion because it is not only the original significance of the word but also best symbolizes the reality to which baptism points—our death and resurrection in Christ.

 

If you have not been baptized following salvation, we ask you to take this step before becoming a Member. To help prepare you, we offer a Baptism Class. The class covers the biblical significance of baptism, frequently asked questions and gives you an opportunity to share your testimony.
